Evaluating Fit for All

Providers should complete at least two of the six questions (and add ideas for improving programme management) on the Fit for All evaluation form below by Friday 16 September. First, a reminder about why evaluation matters and the three ways providers feed in to it:

Providers are going the extra miles to welcome participants and make sure sessions are as inclusive as possible…

Evaluating the programme is all about doing justice to this work…

Fit for All clubs are making a difference to the lives of vulnerable and disabled children and young people in Birmingham and their families this Summer.

Providers are going the extra miles to welcome participants and make sure sessions are as inclusive as possible. That depends on high adult:child ratios: we’re using resources creatively to add value to the HAF funding. As in previous years, providers are finding all sorts of other benefits for children and families. These range from children widening their food choices… to siblings spending quality time with parents… to families feeling less stressed. Fit for All benefits providers too – it’s a way of keeping in touch with families and making new links with more families. For many groups, summer provision is a key part of how they manage.

Evaluating the programmes is all about doing justice to this work and the range of benefits it’s producing.

There are 3 ways Providers help Children’s Quarter to evaluate Fit for All:

Registers – provide quantitative information about the numbers of children who attended sessions; dates of birth and demographics; their home postcodes and schools; the SEND support they receive and their eligibility for Free School Meals. Registers are due in to Children’s Quarter every week during delivery. The final deadline for sending completed registers to Hazel at CQ is Friday 9 September.

Photos, quotes, video snippets and stories from Fit for All participants and families and the staff and volunteers who are looking after them. These can be in any form. Providers can use the WhatsApp group; email; or invite CQ folks to make a site visit to help collect and collate the human stories behind the figures in the registers. Please send Paul at CQ any pictures, poems, stories, songs and quotes from participants by Friday 16 September.

Completing the Evaluation Form below and sending it to CQ. There are six questions. Please answer at least two (you can answer all six if you like, but a really good answer to two is great) and add any notes about how you’d like to see programme management improved. You can download the form (as a Word document) here. Please complete a downloaded form or post it below by Friday 16 September.

FIT FOR ALL PROVIDER EVALUATION FORM

Please answer at least two of the 6 numbered questions and add any notes about how you would like to see programme management improved. Programme management includes Children’s Quarter work on Fit for All (recruiting providers, proposals, registers, communications, training, community lunches, publicity, site visits, support during delivery, finance and, of course, evaluation!)

Finally, how can we improve the way Fit for All is managed? This is mainly Children’s Quarter work on Fit for All (recruiting providers, proposals, registers, communications, training, community lunches, publicity, site visits, support during delivery, finance and, of course, evaluation!) but also includes contacts with and work by Bring it on Brum!
