Break the Ice at Hamilton School

At Hamilton Special School in Handsworth, 20 children will be joining staff for a holiday club running at the school in the first two days of the Christmas holidays. The Christmas holiday club is only open to children at the school. Hamilton School has, however, maintained an open door to community delivery for many years recognising that its responsibility for vulnerable pupils does not stop with school – you can keep in touch for information about future activities.

More About Hamilton School

Hamilton School is a special school for primary age children based in Handsworth. All of the children at the school have a diagnosis of Autism and all have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).  The school strives to offer a high level of support to families including through its pastoral team which engages parents and works with them when needed. During school holidays, the school feels it is important to support families as much as possible by providing holiday clubs, which are subsidised by the ‘Friends of Hamilton Charity’ and are able to get some funding from Bring it On Brum and the Government’s HAF (Holiday Activity and Food) fund. As well as being a member of Children’s Quarter Cooperative and part of Fit for All, the school is part of Birmingham’s Special School Cooperative Trust.
