More About Balsall Heath CATS

Balsall Heath CATS (Children Action Team Support) was set up in 2004 by local families who couldn’t access play and leisure activities for their children. The group helps local children and young people with disabilities be part of the local community and to support, develop and appreciate their potential. CATS now supports over eighty families from diverse backgrounds, isolated by their circumstances, who often face multiple barriers to accessing support and services. The group has the skills and experience to engage with families and individuals who are excluded. They provide support and informed signposting to meet the varied needs of the people they work with. CATS has staff and volunteers with experience and training in running inclusive play, physical activity and healthy eating with SEND children and deliver activities in term-time and – as part of Fit for All – at school holidays. The group has great links in the local community.
