Balsall Heath CATS have yet another fantastic packed programme for SEND participants this summer. The Playscheme – usually based at Heathmount School – will shift to another local venue (to be confirmed) and will run later in August. In the meantime, there are dates out at:
- Northfield SEND Beach Day – Wednesday 23 July
- Cannon Hill Park and MAC Cinema – Thursday 24 July
- House of Mash circus workshop and show at the MAC- Wednesday 30 July
- Birmingham Hippodrome – walking group seeing Mary Poppins – Thursday 31 July
- Cricket, visit and play at Edgbaston – Thursday 31 July
- Air Nation Soft Play in Kings Heath – Monday 11 August
- Ackers Adventure – Tuesday 12 August
- Open Theatre, morning and afternoon drama workshops – Monday 18 August
- Birmingham Weekender Festival at Birmingham Hippodrome – Friday 22 August
And more to be confirmed including trips to Birmingham Botanical Gardens, ThinkTank, Sandwell Valley, bowling, Sea Cadets, more park and cinema visits and a beach trip.
Food, each day, is provided by Balal’s Caterers – with a five star food hygiene rating. The menu includes, for example:
- Chicken Biryani, Veg Samosa and Kebab. Fruits, Cereal bar, Yoghurt pouches bottled water / squash
- Veg Pasta or Chicken, Veg Pokora, Kebab. Fruits, Ceral Bar, Yogurt pouches bottled water/ Squash
- Chickpea Rice, Salad, Kebab, Veg Bite. Fruits, Ceral Bar, Yogurt pouches bottled water/ Squash
- Veg or Chicken wraps, Veg Pokora, Kebab. Fruits, Ceral Bar, Yogurt pouches bottled water/ Squash
- Veg Pasta or Tuna Pasta bake, Veg bite, Kebab. Fruits, Ceral Bar, Yogurt pouches bottled water/ Squash
And there is always lots of fruit such as watermelon, pineapples, mangoes, grapes, oranges and bananas available for snacking daily.
Balsall Heath CATS is a community-run SEND inclusive provider which prioritises children who are disabled or vulnerable, including siblings, and local families. Sessions this Summer are fully booked.
