CASE STUDY: Wilson Stuart School Summer 2021

Wilson Stuart School is a special academy based in Perry Common in Erdington district. The school caters for 229 pupils aged 2-25 years with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.  The after-school club Rockets is available to all special needs children from 8 to 19 years including from other schools and colleges.

During the Summer of 2021, Wilson Stuart organised five sessions for children eligible for free school meals, providing: 340 hours of activity and 170 healthy meals. Associate Head of Primary at Wilson Stuart, Liz Morgan,  told us:

  • The food programme was fantastic. We had an Olympic theme with food on each day from around the world.  The children really enjoyed the different flavours of the food. We sent a snack home each day for the children to eat in the evening.
  • It was a fantastic programme – well-received by all the children – and the parents really enjoyed the programme too.
