Shining Stars Association is a group set up by parents of SEND children in 2017 with support from the Chinese Community Centre in Birmingham and Children’s Quarter. It provides opportunities for play and trips out for children with special educational needs and disabilities and their families who are part of the ethnic Chinese community in and around Birmingham. Shining Stars has organised HAF-funded sessions in the past which have been a mix of physical activity and healthy eating based at the Centre and hikes and trips out with parents to places of interest in and around Birmingham. Shining Stars is organising events and activities on four days during the Christmas holidays.
