A Day Out at Martineau Gardens

Martineau Gardens is a beautiful community garden and haven for wildlife which includes nature trails, formal gardens, children’s play area, woodland, ponds and wildflower meadows. There are two and a half acres of space to explore, supporting a wide range of activities from pond dipping to treasure hunts. Martineau is a great place to learn about organic cultivation and growing plants for food, healthy eating and good mental – as well as physical – health.

The site has a quality badge awarded by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom. It is managed by a charitable group which is also a member of Children’s Quarter. MG is running its own HAF-funded project this Summer but making the site available for hosted visits from groups of delivering inclusive sessions this Summer as part of the Fit for All enrichment offer on Fridays 16 and 23 August.

Martineau Gardens is two miles from Birmingham City Centre. The site is wheelchair accessible and there are toilets and disabled toilets and changing facilities as well as indoor space. There is a small car park and covered bike shed on site.
