Saturday 19 – Monday 21 July 2025 at The Edge, Digbeth/Highgate
Movement and Music; Arts and Activism; Games and Play – all at The Cre@te Festival at The Edge on the first weekend of the Summer Holidays. Cre@te is a free festival for children and young people aged 8 – 18; hosted by Friction Arts; and produced by young people from Friction’s Art Club and Youth Panel. Fit for All is supporting Day 3 of the Festival on Monday 21 July, focusing on Games and Play.
What to expect on each of three themed days at The Edge – Friction Arts’ newly refurbished base on Cheapside on the edge of Digbeth, Birmingham B12 0QH:
Saturday 19th 12-10pm Movement and Music – live performances from local schoola and artists, a roller jam street skate, karaoke & art opportunities and new and fresh Birmingham bands.
Sunday 20th 12-10pm Art and Activism – get active and add your voice to the story! Portraits with Brian Homer & Emma Tucker. Make, mix, chill out or join in art exhibitions. Activism workshop with Sandra and Neoliberalizard – DJs and music later on.
Monday 21st 12-6pm Gaming and Play – gaming tournaments, chances to test out new games. Bring a costume – or find a new one and dress to impress! Oh, and there is healthy food and refreshment.
Under 16s should bring an adult. The Edge is close to the 50 bus route on Bradford Street and the 35, 45 and 47 bus routes on Sherlock Street. It is in walking distance from the 8 inner circle and the bus routes along Digbeth and a 15-20 minute walk from Moor Street and New Street stations.
